The main character, Dahlia, was the result of that forbidden love. The mermaid returned to the sea and Dahlia's father was left with the baby. He marries and his wife raises the baby as her own. Dahlia soon discovers that she is very different from most kids. When she learns about her unusual birthmother, she goes on a quest to find her. Adventures ensue as she learns the Mer language, meets her first boyfriend, discovers a trapped Selkie and the ancient Mer prediction of her birth. |
